| January 2012 Brunch - Westwinds Restaurant, Amherst, NS. |
The WARC January 2012 Brunch took place on Saturday the 21st starting at 11 am at the Westwinds Restaurant in Amherst, NS. There was a great turnout of amateurs, spouses and visitors this time and we even had some great weather to encourage everyone to participate. Although no bright sunshine, the roads were mostly clear and driving was easy. Visitors were Bruce Harvey, VE1II and his son, Michael, VE1MBH both from Truro, NS. The unofficial head count was 24 although there was some debate as to the actual number. Since 24 was the count in January of last year, I'm sticking with that one for this year. Would the early onset of 'cabin fever' be the reason for such a good turnout? Everyone seemed to have a good time 'chin-wagging' and enjoying their meals. Why does VE1SM always get served first? | February 2012 Brunch - Patterson's Restaurant, Sackville, NB. |
The February 2012 Brunch took place at Patterson's Restaurant in Sackville, NB starting at 11 am. There were 15 brunchers there which was quite a good turnout in spite of the weather as some roads were snow-covered due to the overnight and early morning snow. By all reports, everyone had an enjoyable time and good meals. Due to the 15 cm snowfall in our area near Truro, we erred on the side of caution and did not venture out to attend.
