| EMCG (Emergency Measures Communications Group) EMO Training Course in Moncton, 4th & 5th Feb. 2006 |
| This course was sponsored by the Tri-County Amateur Radio Club (TCARC) and was offered by the New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization (NB-EMO). They had invited WARC members to take part. It was held at the Moncton Flight College with 32 participants attending each of the two days. Since the organizers expected 12-15 or so, the response was a refreshing surprise! Lunch was provided free of charge by the organizers and the facilities at the Flight College were second to none! - a great venue for this type of training. Four WARC members took the course: VE1XDT, Mike; VE1CCL, Peter; VE1CHI, Jim & VE1AFH, Jim who was also one of the instructors and responsible for the practical exercise in the afternoon. All participants received a binder containing the course material and practice Log and Message Form sheets. The course ran from 10 am until 4pm each day with four instructors taking turns working their way through the training manual: VE9GUS, Gus Marche, VE1CY, Don Courcy, VE1JH, Brent Taylor and VE1AFH, Jim Hannon.
