| WARC ANNUAL CHRISTMAS MEETING & POTLUCK FEAST 2011 Wednesday, December 7th., 2011 |
On Wednesday evening, December 7th, 2011, 42 club members, spouses and guests packed the outside foyer in the E.D. Fullerton Building in Amherst, NS. This year it was decided to place the food tables in our regular meeting room and use the larger foyer as the eating area. Many delectable dishes were brought in and were laid out on the tables in the meeting room. A table with sweets was on the right and the main food tables were set up on the left. At just about 6:15 pm, our President Jim, VE1JBL called the meeting to order in the EOC room and very quickly called for a motion to adjourn the meeting and push all club business through to the regular January 4th meeting in 2012. The seconded motion on this question passed unanimously and there was a quick motion to adjourn. End of meeting. Not a club speed record but very close to the one minute and four seconds of last year! After a brief welcome message by President Jim Langille VE1JBL to everyone in the foyer, a long line of people with plates suddenly formed at the meeting room door! As in past years, the spread was stupendous and plates were quickly filled to capacity. All manner of casseroles, breads, stews, beans, chicken legs, rolls and other goodies were there and with a bountiful supply of sweets as well on the other table. No one went away hungry. The WARC club members wish to thank all those who made and supplied the food for this occasion. Without your contribution, it would be 'take-out'. Hi,Hi Thanks also to those who helped set up and take down the tables and chairs. Even though Santa couldn't spare the time yet again this year, we all knew Santa was out there thinking about us. He's quite the busy guy at this time of the year! Until the New Year 2012, and on behalf of the WARC, I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
