thanks Lloyd.

It was noted that VE9BGC, Bernard Cormier recently became a club
member. Welcome to the club, Bernie!

Ron, VE1BIC, gave me copies of the minutes which are separate from the
newsletter. All of the missing minutes from Ron are now posted on this
website covering years 2001 until January 2008. Access is through the
'minutes' button on the home page. Why not see what we've been up to all
these years?

The NSARA Annual Picnic will be hosted by our club at Wentworth Park,
NS on Saturday, July 26th starting at 10 am and running until 2 pm. The
details have yet to be worked out.

Last year during November 26-29, several of our club members helped
the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Municipal Affairs - Fire
and Emergency section during the 'Op-Comm Emergency' event. Jim,
VE1AFH finally received the certificates of thanks from Fred Hollett, the
fire commissioner and director for NLEMO. These were present to Brad
VE1ZX, Jim VE1JBL, and Jim VE1AFH for their part in the operation. See
the photos here.

Brad VE1ZX reported that the VE1NET Repeater is undergoing tests in
his basement and will be installed on Kirkhill in Parrsboro at a future date.
The frequency is 146.745 MHz minus offset. Brad would like anyone to try
accessing it and to report to him how it is working

WARC President Jim Langille VE1JBL, will become the Maritime RAC
section manager as of March 1st, 2008, taking over from Hugh Clark,
VE9HC. Jim has produced his own website for the purpose of informing
viewers about Maritime club activities. The website URL will not be
officially announced until March 1st.

Jack Taylor, one of our guests this evening, won the 50/50 draw and
donated the winnings to the club's bursary fund. Thank you very much, Jack!

After a lunch break, Jim VE1CHI, used his laptop and the room's
projector to give a short demonstration of how he creates, edits and posts a
webpage to the website.
