| WARC March Meeting - 2007 |
| The WARC March 2007 meeting was held on the 7th. at the E.D. Fullerton Building in Amherst with about 18 people in attendance. The minutes from the February meeting were included in the March 2007 issue of "The Tantramar" and were approved as presented on the website. Other regular business and reports were discussed and approved. Jim Hannon was away so his treasurer's report read by President Jim Milnar, VE1VIA, consisted of the report from auditor, Jack McGee, VE1CZD. The report was approved as read. Rick, VE9RWS, gave a report on this, the 25th Anniversary of the WARC Weekly Net, mentioning many of the early checkers into it. This net still remains very popular and continues with Rick as net control on Monday evenings starting at 8 pm local time on various linked repeaters. After the meeting's adjournment, everyone gathered around as the official photo was taken of Rick, VE9RWS, cutting the special 25th Anniversary ice cream cake with Brad, VE1ZX and Peter, VE1CCL, two of the net's original checkers and all three still active checking in to this net 25 years later. Jim Langille, VE1JBL, gave a demonstration of Packet Radio and its use in emergency situations in the EMO / WARC Club room after the meeting and while the ice cream cake was being enjoyed by all. |
