| WARC September/October AGM & General Meetings 2007 |
| The continuation of the AGM of the WARC was held on Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007 at the E.D. Fullerton Building in Amherst with about 21 in attendance. Two new members were present and welcomed by the club - VE1AFL, Russ Lusby from Amherst, NS and Jean Tanguay from Tidnish, NS. Jean is currently preparing for his exam. Due to the necessity of establishing a new nominating committee back in September, the AGM had been postponed until now when the new committee (VE9JMP, VE9TER and VE1CHI) reported and presented the club with a new slate of officers for the 2007-2008 campaign after calling for further nominations from the floor. The WARC executive for the 2007-2008 year: President: Jim Langille, VE1JBL Vice President: Rob Ireland, VE9KM Secretary: Ron Bickle, VE1BIC Treasurer: Mike Embree, VE1MY ... and agreeing to carry on in their current capacities were: Newsletter Editor: Peter Hebb, VE1SM Webmaster: Jim Cleveland, VE1CHI The AGM concluded and the October regular meeting began with our new president,Jim Langille VE1JBL, in the chair. One important motion made by Brad, VE1ZX, was to give John Colson, VE1JJC, an "Honourary Lifetime Membership" for his ongoing support of the club and his many contributions to WARC over the years. The motion passed unanimously. Here is a recent photo of Johnny on the right. President Langille conducted his first meeting expeditiously and after its conclusion everyone enjoyed sandwiches and coffee and posed for a few photos. We look forward to another great year of amateur radio activities. Congratulations to the new WARC Executive! |
