special cake from VE1EDP Bob Perry

VE9RWS, Rick has retired from active duty as
Net Controller of the Monday night WARC Two
Metre Net. Rick started doing the net on
February 4th, 1991. Don VE1CGD and Lee
VE1BHS were instrumental in getting him to do
at least one net. There were 13 checkins on his
first net. Little did Rick know that that first and
only net was going to turn into twenty years!

On Rick's final net on September 5th, 2011, he
had 32 checkers with four of them being
women: Abbie VE1BFB, Sam VA1SAM, Crystal
VE1XTL and Kay VE1YH. Just goes to show ya
that he still attracts the opposite sex! Hi,Hi

Rick was honoured with a special cake by the
WARC members and arranged by VE1EDP Bob
Perry as you can see by the photos above.

Once again, Rick, we all thank you for twenty
years as Net Controller and the detailed logs
that you kept over this time. We will all miss
your melodious tones, your good sense of
humour and your professional way of handling
net traffic. We look forward to hearing you
again as guest NC sometime in the future.

Meanwhile enjoy that huge sum of KCs you
received as a NC Pensioner! :-)
