| WARC at Cumberland County Municipal Day 2008 |
Again this year, WARC club members took part in the Municipality of Cumberland Annual Municipal Day held on Friday, May 23rd., 2008 at the E.D. Fullerton Building in Amherst, NS. As I was unable to attend the event due to a death in the family, Lloyd, VA1MAB was kind enough to send me some photos taken during the day. Our club was even visited by the County Warden and his deputy during our demonstrations. As you can see, a good turnout from our club to help even though the radio room is a small one. Hopefully some of the students went away with a better understanding of what Amateur Radio is all about and its important role in public service during emergencies. ~73 de VE1CHI, Webguy |
