| Here are some pictures of the VE1WRC Amherst Repeater Salem, moved into the new building at the end of March, 2010. There were many agencies working side by side as shown in the pictures. Great bunch of guys with everyone helping each other. It was a real fun and productive day. Thanks go to Jim VE1AFH, Rick VE9RWS and Brad VE1ZX from WARC for their part in the work. Brad was taking the pictures so did not get into any of them. Yes we made our requisite trip to the 'tango hotel'. Hi Hi. |

| VE1WRC Repeater Work - 5th April 2010 |
Here are the latest pictures from the VE1WRC Amherst Repeater site at Salem. The move into the new building is complete. Brad VE1ZX, Jim VE1AFH, and Rick VE9RWS started the move on March 31st, 2010. The repeater was moved into the new rack ( 302 ) at that date and was up and running when we left the site. Somehow it stopped transmitting later that day. On April 5th, 2010 Brad, VE1ZX and Lorne, VE1BXK re-visited the site and chased Murphy out of the site! hi hi They re-routed the new feed lines into the cable trays and tie-wrapped them in place. As you can see it is quite an improvement over the old building. The new tower was put in last year. There is a picture of the tower name plate is in this group of photos. Also you will see the new power plant, backup power and the name plate of the new building. The new repeater is a Motorola MSR-2000/100W with a preamp installed. So far we have had good reports on its coverage in the local area. Please give it a try and let us know how it is working in your area. ( 147.285 + ) 73, Brad. PS: We did make our TH run, Hi Hi, |
